I absolutely love chamber music! It has been at the center of my musical world for
as long as I can remember. The variety in instrumental combinations that are represented in the chamber music repertoire give musicians the opportunity and flexibility to explore tone color combinations and a level of intimacy in phrasing that I find perfectly challenging and rewarding.
I have been revisiting many of my recorded chamber music performances over the years with my wonderful colleagues and friends. Here are a few...
TRIO for Oboe Bassoon Piano
Marie de Grandval
Dan Weiser Piano
Quibble by Frank Stemper-premiere OTB Fest
Doug Worthen-Flute Margaret Herlehy-Oboe
SCOTT PENDER MUSIC FOR WOODWINDS
I was thrilled when Scott Pender asked me to record his Variations for Oboe for this release. This is a beautiful piece-and a real audience favorite.
I am performing with my wonderful colleague Rob Haskins - what a joy!
Scott's music really touches me.
